Artemis Preeshl is a Fulbright Senior Specilaist in Theatre. She has taught voice, acting, movement and directing on five continents and on faculty at Loyola University New Orleans and Utah State University. Ms. Preeshl coached Aunjune Ellis as an Alzheimer patient in Una Vida, a New Orleans Film Festival Official Entry. She has coached accents for Nine Parts of Desire, The Laramie Project, Bug, Crimes of the Heart, Blithe Spirit, All’s Well That Ends Well, Twelfth Night, Sylvia, A Christmas Carol, and Big Easy winner Godspell at Loyola University New Orleans and Rivertown’s Wait Until Dark. Artemis taught Dialects Online. As SAG-AFTRA member, Artemis has performed as a voice actor in The Sonambulist, a New Orleans Film Festival Official Entry, Mrs. Hatch & Ruth Dakin in It’s a Wonderful Life, and storyteller in Red Dust for Salt Lake Radio. A Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research, she wrote and directed the film, Pancha Ratna, in Tamil that won Honorable Mention at Hollywood’s DIY Festival, and choreographed a 7-dance Bharatanatyam/ Western suite, Liquid Gems, at India’s “Juilliard”, Kalakshetra. As a Contributing Editor, Ms. Preeshl collected New Orleans accents for Visalect: International Accent Database. Having taught public speaking at La Barracuda Carmela Teatro in Bogota and the U.S.-Sri Lanka Fulbright Commission, Artemis serves as Toastmasters International Area 6 Director. VASTA awarded a grant for Australian coach Jennifer Innes and Ms. Preeshl to voice and accent classes in Louisiana. Artemis has taught Voice for Film with Todd Todoroff and Fitzmaurice Voicework at Elm Theatre in New Orleans, Kosovo’s Center for Alternative Theatre Training, Shakespeare: 4 Sketches in the Ukraine, and Universiti Malaysia in Borneo. Artemis assisted Catherine Fitzmaurice teach at La Vos Humana in Havana, Cuba. Routledge published Ms. Preeshl’s book, Shakespeare and Commedia dell’arte: Play by Play.
