Laura Quigley is a playwright, performer and producer of theatre. She holds a Masters in Theatre Studies from the University of Guelph, a BFA in Contemporary Theatre from Simon Fraser University, and she is a certified teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®. Laura is currently Artist in Residence at Concordia University where she is writing, directing and teaching voice. Laura’s most recent projects include The Waves, a solo play based on three generations of birth stories. The Waves had a first reading at the Festival Of Original Theatre Conference (FOOT) at the University of Toronto in 2017, was read as a part of the Revolution They Wrote Festival in Montreal in 2018; and will be a part of the Summerworks Festival in Toronto, summer 2018, directed by Clea Minaker.
Laura teaches voice and public speaking, acting, devising, and movement. Her students include a wide range of arts professionals, students, young people and corporate executives. She has taught privately and institutionally in Montreal, Guelph, Toronto, Vancouver, Mexico, New York and LA. She will be teaching alongside Catherine Fitzmaurice and other master teachers as part of the Fitzmaurice Voicework Certification in LA this July. She lives in Montral, QC, Canada.
