Matthew Dudley studied at Trinity College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has taught on professional training and degree programmes for over 10 years and is currently course leader of the Foundation Degree in Musical Theatre validated by Bucks New University, delivered at Amersham and Wycombe College. As well as teaching voice and singing, he has directed several plays and musical theatre productions and is currently collaborating on the writing of a new degree programme. He has taught voice and singing at several respected training institutions including Guildford School of Acting and Italia Conti. He has performed in Opera, Oratorio and Musical Theatre at venues such as the Royal Opera House, the Albert Hall, the Barbican, the Salzburg Festival and with Garsington Opera. His teaching is influenced by his study of classical and contemporary vocal techniques and incorporates movement work, mindfulness and awareness of the therapeutic nature of acting/vocal/movement training. He is continuing his training in integrative psychotherapy and will shortly start his PhD in the psychotherapeutic nature of professional actors’ training.
