Advanced Training at Fitzmaurice Voice Institute

For Certified Fitzmaurice Voicework® Teachers

Fitzmaurice Institute’s Advanced Training Collective produces workshops created specifically for Trems, and noted on the Fitzmaurice Workshop Calendar. Programming offers opportunities to deepen one's teaching skills and personal engagement with Fitzmaurice Voicework®. The goal is to solidify our community’s understanding of the elements of the work and to create space to explore relationships with other forms, current trends, and developments.

Programming is divided along multiple highways:

  • Core Principles - What is Fitzmaurice Voicework®? Workshops that deepen participants’ understanding of Destructuring, Restructuring, Health, Autonomy, Presence, Authenticity, Relationship, and Play.

  • Fitzmaurice Voicework® Interactions - Playing well with others! Workshops that explore Fitzmaurice Voicework® in relationship with other practices - theatrical and beyond. Where are the areas of shared ideology, where are distinctions found and where is cross pollination possible?

Past workshop example: “The Artist as Activist: Applied Theatre & Applied Drama” by Michael Morgan

  • The Toolbox - What we need to succeed. Workshops on topics that will be useful to practitioners for teacher and career development to learn useful technical, career development, and administrative skills in support of Fitzmaurice Voicework® in relationship with other practices - theatrical and beyond. Where are the areas of shared ideology, where are distinctions found and where is cross pollination possible?

Past workshop example: “Zoom Skill-Share for Best Practices for Distance Learning” by Ron Carlos
