• For the very adventurous, Philadelphia is a day trip away, and has some excellent theatre and other historical things to do.

Other Activities in and around New Jersey:

• On Kean’s Campus: Liberty Hall Museum and Liberty Hall Grounds.

• AMC Theatre in mountainside if you want to see a movie.

• South Mountain - 2,110 acre nature reserve including Hiking (including a fairy trail!), trails to Hemlock Falls, and Turtle Back Zoo.

• Liberty State Park in Jersey City

• Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge

• Gateway National Recreation Area NY/NJ

• Lots of Parks and Gardens - Longwood Gardens, Greenwood Gardens, Van Vleck House and Gardens, The Freylinghausen Arboretum, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.

• Beach days are possible. Going into New York to Coney Island in Brooklyn, or to one of the beaches on Long Island (even out in the Hamptons) is a fun day trip. There are lots of Jersey beaches as well within an hours drive - Seaside Heights, Long Branch, Monmouth, and more.

• If you are up for a longer trip, heading to South Jersey to Atlantic City is about 1 hr 45 minutes. The Pine Barrens is about 90 minutes and definitely worth a visit!

• H&S Soulfood - Stuyvesant Ave, Union

• Lechon de Negrón - Magie Ave, near campus

• Suspenders Bar and Grill - Magie Ave, Near Campus. Name That Tune Tuesdays, and Trivia and Bingo nights on Wednesdays.
