FITZMAURICE VOICE INSTITUTE - LOOKING AHEAD INTO 2026
As we step into 2026, the Fitzmaurice Voice Institute enters a new phase of growth, reflection, and forward movement. With the publication of Fitzmaurice Voicework: Embodying the Holistic Voice by Catherine Fitzmaurice and Michael Morgan, an important milestone has been reached. This moment calls forward a renewed commitment to stewardship — preserving the lineage of the work while expanding access for future generations of practitioners, artists, educators, and scholars. In the years ahead, a central focus of the Institute will be the development of the Fitzmaurice Voicework archives, alongside the expansion of research partnerships that support embodied practice, scholarship, and global exchange. As part of this forward movement, the Institute is also creating new ways to share the work beyond the studio and classroom — through dialogue, storytelling, and collective reflection.
Voice Is an Action: The Fitzmaurice Voicework® Podcast
We are excited to be in the development of a new podcast, Voice Is an Action: The Fitzmaurice Voicework® Podcast. This podcast explores voice as a whole-body, relational, and meaning-making practice through dialogue with artists, teachers, scholars, and practitioners working across performance, somatic practice, education, and health. Season One centers on the theme Breathing Is Meaning, inviting listeners to experience breath as a bioenergetic process — a living movement of impulse, rhythm, relationship, presence, and action in the world.

Fitzmaurice Voice Institute, Inc. (FVI) provides a comprehensive, holistic approach to voice through Fitzmaurice Voicework® training.
As FVI approaches the end of another incredible year, it's time to pause, reflect, and celebrate the journey. Looking back on the past year, FVI has seen it’s community thrive in countless ways. From the Los Angeles Freedom & Focus Conference, research salons, increased programming, and monthly free offerings, it's clear that the community is stronger than ever.
In the spirit of fresh beginnings and setting new goals for the year ahead, FVI can also take a moment to celebrate the power of Fitzmaurice Voicework®. The work reminds us to stay present, to connect, and to nurture ourselves and each other.
In that spirit, FVI invites you to explore the calendar for upcoming workshops in 2024, where participants will continue to explore the transformative potential of voice and breath. The in-person workshops will take place in inspiring locations such as Bali, Vancouver, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Shanghai, Copenhagen and many others. Additionally, FVI is thrilled to announce that the Foundations classes are now available online, allowing you to embark on this journey from the comfort of your own space.
