Coming Soon…A Fitzmaurice Voice Institute Research Grant

Certified Teachers of Fitzmaurice Voicework will be invited to apply for one grant of up to $500 that will be awarded yearly beginning in 2024. Completed applications will be due in June each year. The criteria for the application will be announced soon. Projects may include (but are not limited to):

  • Research project related to Fitzmaurice Voicework

  • Assistance for publication of an article or other manuscript related to Fitzmaurice Voicework

Presented by Budi Miller
Dr. Budi Miller's research explores the fusion of Western actor training with Balinese Performing Arts Training. Using autoethnography and Practice as Research (PaR), he investigates the synthesis of these methodologies and the emergence of taksu, a Balinese concept, as a transformative force in actor training. Dr. Miller aims to advance Western actor training by transcending cultural boundaries and providing authentic BIPOC representation.
