Anika Solveig is a freelance actor, director and teacher living in the New York City area. She has taught Voice, Speech, Movement and Acting at Rutgers University, Rider University, Marymount Manhattan College, The Barrow Group, HB Studios, NYFA and AMDA where she currently heads up the Classical and Period department. Anika spent 2013 in Residence with the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival where she directed several Shakespeare plays while coaching Voice and Text for the California Shakespeare Theater. Anika taught Acting, Voice and Speech at the University of California, Irvine, where she studied with Master teachers Phil Thompson and Cynthia Bassham. As an actress, Anika has performed regionally with Frank Theater at the Guthrie in Minneapolis, Shakespeare Orange County, New Swan Shakespeare Co., the National Theater for Arts and Education and with Counter-Balance Theater Co. In New York, she has performed with Barefoot Theatre, Looking Glass, Amios, terraNOVA, the Internationalists, Greig Theater, DC3 and Panapoly Lab among others. She is currently an associate artist with the Swan Dive Theater Collective in NJ. Member of AEA.
