Carey Dawson has taught at Marymount Manhattan, The Boston Conservatory, ART’s Institute for Advanced Theatre Training, and The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Along with private coaching, Carey has done dialect, text, and voice coaching at The Magnet Theatre, Princeton, Harvard University, American Repertory Theatre, Boston College, The Uncommon Theatre Company, and Brown University. Some highlights from her theatre work on and off the stage are My Fair Lady, Angels in America, Julius Caesar, Copenhagen, Donnie Darko, No Man’s Land, Brittanicus, Betty’s Summer Vacation, Country Club, Marat Sade, Blood Wedding, Beautiful Bodies, Steel Magnolias, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, Graceland. She was the recipient of the Lawrence Langner Award for her excellence in speech for the theatre in 2002 at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She was also recognized two years running with a Certificate of Distinction in Teaching at Harvard University.
