Lorena Pualuan is a singer, composer, and vocal coach. Her career has explored many different musical styles with well-known teachers. She has studied Bel Canto, composition, harmony, folk guitar, Psychology, and Music Therapy, and has worked as a chorus director. She was introduced to Fitzmaurice Voicework by Saul Kotzubei, Micha Espinosa, and Catherine at the First Congreso del Voz in Santiago, Chile, in 2003. In 2008 she brought colleagues and students to work with Saul and Catherine for a further two intensive weeks in Los Angeles. She has been incorporating this work into her singing and teaching since then in deep and effective ways, while synthesizing it with many other elements. As a singer, her own style draws from many different musical traditions, including jazz, bossa nova, blues, and electronic Latin jazz. Fusion has been her favorite method of exploration because of its characteristic versatility and organic and original interpretation. She has taught professional and student singers in private lessons and schools, working at the Escuela Moderna de Musica in Santiago from 1999 to 2009, offering effective vocal support, and developing her own style in a synthesis of many different influences, but using principally her own organic vision and the Fitzmaurice Voicework. She also created artistic support for her students as a musical producer, showcasing many different singers, both with the new generation of jazz singers in Chile, and during her time in New York City. She has been lead vocalist at many concerts, including “Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald”, with many bands in different styles, and has produced her first album “Impulses”.
