Rikke is Danish but lived and worked in the UK for over 20 years. She trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and completed an MA in Voice Studies at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2003.
While based in London, she taught voice at several accredited London drama schools: Drama Studio London, East 15 Acting School (University of Essex), LAMDA and Webber Douglas.
Since 2011, Rikke has been based in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she works as an actor, voice-over artist and teacher. Between 2017 and 2025, she was part of the teaching team at Copenhagen’s International School of Performing Arts (CISPA). She has also taught at several other drama and folk high schools and is a regular guest lecturer at the University of Copenhagen.
Making Shakespeare’s plays accessible and relevant to young people is a great passion of hers. She runs The Actor’s Approach to Shakespeare workshops in schools and has created a number of productions and site-specific events through her own company, Shakespeare Lab.
As an actor, she most recently performed in Det Olske Orkester’s Det Vandrende Menneske, with a second international tour planned.
Fitzmaurice Voicework continues to play an important role in Rikke’s practice, both as an actor and a teacher. She works with private clients and regularly offers workshops, often at Forsoegsstationen in Copenhagen.
