Dory Rebekah Sibley is a mother, original works artist, teacher, singer, and performer. She is most known for collaborative devising, ensemble building, Voicework for original and devised performance and extended vocal techniques. Dory spent her early 20’s singing opera theatre as a coloratura soprano before she moved to Italy in 2005. After completing her MFA in Physical Theatre she went on to receive certifications in the Elemental Body Alignment System (EBAS) and Fitzmaurice Voicework®. Dory has extensive experience in Roy Hart voice, Alexander Technique, mask work, commedia dell’arte, clown and various devising techniques. She has taught workshops at institutions around the world including Boston University, Muhlenberg College, Syracuse University, Ithaca College, Vassar and University of Ljubljana. Dory spent 15 years abroad and was a Core Faculty member at the Accademia dell’Arte assisting in its development and success from both an administrative and pedagogic perspective. As a member of the Aretino artistic community, she curated and organized several large-scale events including the ArezzoFestival - festival for International University performances, the CrisisART Festival - international festival for young emerging artists and companies, and served as President of the Collaborative Arts Lab - an association that creates space for artistic experimentation and creation. She continues to serve the Accademia as President of the Alumni Association, which she founded in 2006.

In 2011 she co-founded the international physical theatre and mask troupe, Tut’Zanni Theatre and co-founded Women From Mars, a dark, feminist clown troupe in 2014. Dory has also performed her original devised work in theatres in NYC, Chicago, Arezzo, Genova, Milan, Turin, Cortona, Anghiari and Berlin

As a mother-artist, Dory supports the Parent Artist Advocacy League (PAAL) and was recently chosen to participate in Mama Is A Maker (#mamaisamaker), an artistic residency in motherhood. She is a member of VASTA and Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity (Alumni). Dory is most proud of her two beautiful children and grateful for her jack-of-all trades husband who remains her rock and biggest support.
