Fiona Rose Stout is a director, interdisciplinary researcher, and movement therapist living in Dublin, Ireland. Originally from Los Angeles, Fiona made the move to study classically as an actor and then met someone who convinced her to stay long past conservatory :) Her PhD, titled “Fascia: Facilitating Physiological Fluidity and Flow-State for the Actor-Body,” leans into interdisciplinary learning and advocates for the continued use and study of (skilled) touch, especially for dysregulated bodies. Specialties include fascia and trauma; as a yoga teacher and something called a “yoga therapist,” she is set to reach a milestone in her training, her 1,000 hour YTT, this fall. Fiona is currently transitioning out of perpetual studenthood; studying under clinical anatomist John Sharkey, she will complete her NeuroMuscular Therapy studies by the end of 2025, and then – she seeks to work with bodies to help them find their physiological fluidity and perhaps their version of flow, full-time.

Proudly autistic, Fiona is piloting a neurodivergent Fitzmaurice Voicework group in Dublin. She seeks to make the work accessible not just for performers but to the ND community at large, most likely folks with sensory processing issues who are fatigued from masking and looking for practice that really meets them where they are at. She is seeking collaborators with similar interests; if this might be you, please do get in touch.
