The Fitzmaurice Institute's Research Studies branch promotes, facilitates, and engages in research and writing relating to Fitzmaurice Voicework®. Research can include theoretical, empirical, and "practice as research" inquiries. Our purpose is to support Fitzmaurice Voicework’s potential to advance all aspects of human communication and to foster empowerment based in justice and equity.

From Lynn Watson, FI Research Studies Director

The Research Studies area has grown, and the team now includes Trems Lynn Watson, Director Rachel Hirshorn-Johnston, Ellen Foyn Bruun, Adriano Cabral, Michael Morgan, Jeff Morrison, Amy Chaffee, Kris Danford, Roger Smart. A larger team provides more opportunities to explore, expand, and share FV-related research. Based on expertise within the group, and dreaming about the future, the team is in the brainstorming phase of gathering ideas and prioritizing where to focus our energies. Read on for an initial list of ideas. If you have thoughts to add, or expertise to contribute, please contact us at research@fitzmauriceinstitute.org.

·       Identify and organize methods for stronger communication within the research area

·       Connect trems who have similar or complementary research interests

·       Create a system to connect trems with research mentors, including for writing articles and practice as research (PaR) projects

·       Assist trems on developing ideas into viable projects (this is linked with mentors, but might also involve workshops or larger group sessions)

·       Grants - prospecting, aggregating, disseminating information, and writing
