Community Teaching Initiative for Certified Teachers

How To Create a Half-day to 2-day Workshop Using
Institute Resources

What you do:

Fill out the ONLINE PROPOSAL FORM below, including all of the following information:

1. Your name, and the name of your collaborators (if any), and contact info.

2. Articulate what it is you want to do. Give it a title and describe it.

What are you passionate about? Curious about? Good at? What knowledge or experience do you hold that you want to share with others?

You may want to do a fundamental De/Re workshop to introduce the work to your community. You may have a unique point of intersection between FV and other work that you want to share. You may have a particular application of FV to a specific problem (singing, text work, presence, verse… anything!)

The single requirement is that your proposed workshop use elements of FV (Destructuring, Restructuring and Presence into Play and Applications) in ways that align with the 8 values of FI (current draft here) to deliver your material.

3. Let us know what state of development your work is in: is your workshop ready to go – have you taught the material before? Does it need some development? Is it just the seed if an idea at this point?

4. Indicate duration – half day, one day, or two days.

5. Indicate if the workshop is remote, hybrid, or in-person.

If you teach in person, you need to factor the cost of space rental, if any, into the cost of the enrollment. Depending on your location, the FI may or may not be able to help you find space. The FI also has a limited amount of money to help with up-front deposits on workshop space.

6. Determine the best price point for potential students. The FI can help you with figuring this out if needed.

7. Pick a range of days and times that will work for you.

What the FI will do:

1. Help determine the best day and time that will conflict the least with other FI offerings

2. Help you figure out what to charge students. (if needed)

3. Design and create visual materials (email flyers, FB and IG flyers, etc.)

4. Promote your workshop on the Tremlist, the FI website and FB and IG accounts, and other digital avenues

5. Help with space for in-person workshops. (if needed)

6. Manage and track enrollment and payment via the website

7. Provide use of the FI Zoom account if your workshop is online or hybrid

8. Record the workshop if the event is online or hybrid

9. Pay the lead teacher and supporting teachers the daily rate agreed upon.
